The Writer

"Her essays are lyrical explorations of a self being altered, challenged, affirmed, re-challenged, and re-affirmed, by being pushed to the very edges of its physical limitations ... these lead not to easy affirmations, or moments of triumph, but rather to insights about what it's like to live an embodied existence, to be susceptible to pain, to be tangled up in memories from which swimming, cycling, running and writing are the only viable ways to break free."
